There appear to have been some improvements to the building, the interior now feeling lighter and airier. Staff are exceptionally friendly and service comes with both conversation and a smile. Drink selection is good and I'm sure will get even better over time. Under the previous management the usp of the pub was the food: exceptionally generous, delicious portions that would always leave one completely stuffed for not a great deal of money. Now, the food is tasty in a generic sort of way and portions are very average. I have eaten very similar meals at chain pubs in and around Cambridge. The new management have some way to go in this regard but I will certainly give them a chance and visit the Black Horse again.
